"The Lies of Locke Lamora" by Scott Lynch is simply the best book that I have read in many years, and can go toe-to-toe with any of the best Fantasy or Sci-Fi. I find myself tongue-tied in any attempt to ascribe its virtues, because it is so amazingly awesome on all levels. The intricate plot is worth any five books put together and is practically a character of its own. The following link is a spiffy review of the book:
